UV LED Windshield Repair Curing Light

The NEW Bond Wand is the only LED Curing Light for Windshield Repair that has Uniform and Filtered UV Energy.  The UV Energy goes through the light surface of the special polymeric lens cover. The cover is lit up by the bulbs and filtered to reduce intensity and put out uniform UV energy. NOTE - We named this light Wand for a reason. Long Cracks are rarely straight and no matter how long we make a light it cannot hit the entire crack at once, so we first partially cure by sweeping the Bond Wand over the crack called:

Distance Modulation (The "Inverse-Square" Ramp)

With UV lights that lack built-in power settings, you must use distance to control the light intensity.

  • Stage 1 (Gel Phase): Hold your Bond Wand  2-3-inches from the crack. Starting at the point or the edge with the UV light off any of the crack, slowly sweep the Wand over the crack taking 10 seconds to go from one end of the crack to the other end, then pull it completely away for 5-10 seconds and then repeat. This slowly transitions the liquid acrylic into a flexible gel without a sudden shrinkage shockwave.
  • Stage 2 (Bulk Cure): Move the light to about 1-inch away from the crack and sweep again taking 15 to 20 seconds to go from one end of the crack to the other end. This drives the bulk cross-linking safely now that the initial shrinkage stress has been cushioned by the gel state.
  • Stage 3 (Final Hardening): Bring the light onto the crack for a final 30-60 second burst on each section of the crack to ensure the resin in the crack achieves maximum conversion.

This will prevent having separate structures, stress or weak spots. If you completely cure one section at time you can end up with muliple weakly connected structures.
